When you want great photographs—
but don’t want your day to become a photoshoot.
I’m Nick, a wedding photographer who believes the experience of your day matters just as much as the photographs you receive afterwards.
People tend to feel comfortable around me, including those who normally dislike being photographed. I enjoy getting to know people, joining in when it helps everyone relax and then quietly stepping back when real moments begin to unfold.
My aim is for you, your family and your friends to feel free to talk, laugh, celebrate and be yourselves—while I take responsibility for capturing the day beautifully.

Part of the occasion. Outside the moment.
Some photographs happen because people feel relaxed enough to engage with me naturally.
Guests often approach me for photographs, joke with me and respond as they would to someone already part of the occasion. Even when a formal photograph is needed, I help people relax so that expressions feel immediate and genuine rather than fixed for the camera.
At other times, I move into the background. I often work with a longer lens and as little additional lighting as possible, allowing conversations, expressions and relationships to develop without interruption.
I also look for the moments in between—when someone suddenly notices the camera and gives a direct, unplanned look. They are aware of me, but they have not been instructed or posed.

I adapt to your wedding—not the other way round.
Before the day, we talk through the photographs that matter to you. That includes the important moments in your plans and any family or group combinations you particularly want.
Once the wedding begins, I take responsibility for the photography. I move, change position, work with the available light and adapt my technique rather than repeatedly asking you or your guests to interrupt what you are doing.
Formal photographs are kept relaxed and efficient. I am watching just as closely before and after the official photograph, when expressions soften and people begin enjoying themselves again.
Real moments, photographs with depth.
I am drawn to photographs that contain more than one story. I often work through crowds, using foreground figures, gestures and different layers of activity to create the feeling of being inside the wedding rather than looking at it from a distance.
I also look for unposed portraits of the couple and their guests—carefully composed photographs that reveal personality without asking someone to perform for the camera.
Alongside preserving the events and emotions of the day, I am always searching for images with enough character, composition and detail to reward a second or third look.

Tell me how you want your wedding to feel.
Every wedding is different, and I would rather begin by listening than assume what you need.
Tell me about your plans, the people who matter to you and how you would like the day to unfold. We can then talk through the photography in a relaxed and straightforward way.
Kind Words
I See Happiness & Love
“I didn’t want formal poses or to spend time staging photographs. I wanted to talk and laugh and dance, and I wanted my husband, who is dreadfully camera shy, to enjoy the day too. We had a marvellous, happy wedding day and Nick caught that. I look at the photographs and see the happiness and the love.” - Alison Fearon
Capturing The Emotions
